Adefovir
Uses
Adefovir is used in the treatment of chronic (long-term) hepatitis B infection (swelling of the liver caused by a virus).
How it Works
Adefovir is known as a nucleotide analog, It works by decreasing the amount of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the body. Adefovir will not cure hepatitis B however it does help in limiting the damage it is causing to the liver. Adefovir may not prevent the spread of hepatitis B to other people.
