Montelukast
Uses
Montelukast is known as a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Montelukast is prescribed to help prevent asthma attacks or exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
How it Works
Montelukast works to control the symptoms of asthma by blocking the effects leukotrienes. Leukotrienes are produced by the body when asthma symptoms flare up, this may be caused without or with reason being exercise or pollen exposure. Such instances cause body to produce chemical substances called leukotrienes, which cause the inflammation in the smaller airways of the lungs. The inflammation irritates the muscles around the airways and causes them to constrict, this causes airways to narrow which makes it more difficult for air to get in and out of the lungs. This causes the typical symptoms of wheeze, chest tightness and shortness of breath. The inflammation also causes the lining of airways to make extra mucus which causes coughing. Thus Montelukast helps in the treatment of these symptoms.

Bambuterol
Uses
Bambuterol is used in the treatment of maintenance and control of asthma, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) as well as other similar conditions.
How it Works
Bambuterol is known as a long acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist, called a bronchodilator because it widens (dilates) your airways to prevent bronchospasms and breathing difficulties.Bambuterol works by stimulating receptors called beta2 receptors in the muscles that line your airways. This relaxes these muscles making your air passages widen and this makes it easier for you to breathe.
