Timolol Topical
Uses
Timolol is used in the treatment of glaucoma, prevent migraines, hypertension or high blood pressure, Timolol also helps to prevent abnormally fast heart rhythms or also known as arrhythmia.
How it Works
Timolol works by slowing down the activity of the heart by stopping messages sent by some nerves to the heart. Timolol does this by blocking tiny areas which are called beta-adrenergic receptors, where the messages are received by the heart. As a result, the heart beats more slowly and with less force, This then allows the pressure of blood within the blood vessels to be reduced. Timolol also works by lowering the pressure in the eyes, thereby preventing gradual loss of vision.
