Uses

Ritonavir is used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Ritonavir slows the progress of HIV infections, it controls the HIV virus and prevents it from spreading

How it Works

Ritonavir is an anti-HIV drug that is a protease inhibitor.Ritonavir works by disrupting the HIV protease enzyme, which then causes it to produce ineffective HIV-viral particles that are unable to further infect the body. Retonavir is usually used along with other medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
