Fusidic Acid
Uses
Fucidin is used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections caused by germs called the Staphylococcal bacteria.
How it Works
Fucidin is used in the treatment of infections such as impetigo, infected cuts and grazes, and infected dermatitis. Fucidin works by stopping the growth of the germs causing the infection by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, required by the germs/bacteria to carry out vital functions. Sodium fusidate is a salt available in fusidic acid and it works in the same way by stopping bacterial infections.
