Imat is used for the treatment of hematologic cancer or also known as chronic myelogenous Leukemia and also gastrointestinal stromal tumors
How it Works
Imatinib is an anticancer drug. It works by blocking the action of abnormal proteins that signal cancer cells to grow. This then helps stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.
Common Side effects
Nausea, rash, vomiting, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joints) pain, edema, abdominal pain, fatigue, diarrhea, muscle spasms
