Donepezil is used in the treatment of dementia in patients affected by Alzheimer`s and parkinson's disease
How it Works
Donepezil works by increasing the level of a natural chemical called acetylcholine in the body. Acetylcholine is a chemical which allows nerve cells in the brain to communicate with each other, it is known that people with dementia have low levels of acetylcholine. The symptoms of dementia can be improved by increasing the levels of acetylcholine by using the treatment of Donepezil.

Memantine
Uses
Memantine is used in the treatment of dementia which is caused by people who are diagnosed with alzheimer's disease.
How it Works
Memantine is not known as a cure, however Memantine can slow down the progression of the symptoms of alzheimer's disease. Memantine works by reducing the amount of a brain chemical called glutamate. This then helps to slow down the damage to brain cells affected by Alzheimer's disease.
