Osimertinib
Uses
Osimert is a targeted therapy drug which is used in chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and small cell lung cancer.
How it Works
Osimert targets the mutated epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) within the cancer cell. EGFR is a gene that tells cells how to grow and divide, a mutation in this gene can cause cancer therefore Osimert targets the mutant form of EGFR.

Expert advice
It is advisable that you have regular follow up checks with your doctor while on Osimert to monitor the side effects and also check on the response to therapy.
Warning
Contact your doctor immediately if you are experiencing a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or more.
Important Precautions
it is advisable to inform your doctor regarding any other medications you may be taking including prescriptions before starting on Osimert. Aspirin or products containing aspirin should be avoided at all costs. Any kind of immunization or vaccination is not recommended while on Osimert.
Storage
Keep Osimert in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
