Penicillin G
Uses
Penicillin G is used for the treatment of bacterial infections, syphilis and Prevention of Rheumatic fever.
How it Works
Penicillin G is known as an antibiotic. Penicillin G kills the bacteria by attacking their cell wall. Penicillin G prevents the synthesis of a substance in the cell wall called peptidoglycan, peptidoglycan provides the cell wall with the strength required for survival of bacteria in human body. Thus this kills the cell and stops the infection from spreading.

Introduction
Pentids is a popular antibiotic for bacterial infections. It is also prescribed before any surgical operation especially for patients who might acquire an infection in the lining of the heart, preventing the damage to the heart valves. It stops bacterial cells spread and increase in number by stopping the bacterial cell wall formation. It treats severe infections caused by penicillin G-microorganisms which are susceptible in rapid growth or require increase level of penicillin. This medicine has a specific mechanism which binds a certain PBPs or penicillin-binding protein found within the bacterial cell wall, then penicillin G on the third and last phase of bacterial cell wall inhibits through a synthesis. Bacterial Cell wall autolytic enzymes known as autolysin works in cell analysis, penicillin G interferes with the autolysin inhibitor.
Composition
Penicillin G is natural penicillin which comes from cultures and is available in several different salt forms. Penicillin G potassium has penicillin G which is an available natural penicillin and it comes from Penicillium chrysogenum cultures. This penicillin G potassium otherwise known as pentids or crystalline or aqueous penicillin or also called as benzylpenicillin potassium appears as white or colorless crystals which are dissolvable in water and a little soluble in alcohol. Potent penicillin G potassium are expressed in Units. A milligram of penicillin G potassium is equal to 1440-1680 USP Units.
Use
This drug medicine is use for treatment of several bacterial infections that include the throat, nose, ear, soft tissues, respiratory tract, skin, and genitourinary tract infections. It is Also used to treat syphilis and meningitis.
Dosage and administration
Teenagers and adults have a pentids dose of 200,000 to 500,000 units for every four to six hours while children
Storage
Pentids have to be stored at room temperature out of the reach of children and pets
