Ritonavir
Uses
Ritonavir is used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Ritonavir slows the progress of HIV infections, it controls the HIV virus and prevents it from spreading
How it Works
Ritonavir is an anti-HIV drug that is a protease inhibitor.Ritonavir works by disrupting the HIV protease enzyme, which then causes it to produce ineffective HIV-viral particles that are unable to further infect the body. Retonavir is usually used along with other medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

Tenofovir

How it Works
Tenofovir is an antiretroviral medicine known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). Tenofovir slows the progress of HIV infection, but it is not a cure. Tenofovir is used with other medicines in a combination therapy. Tenofovir works by by stopping the virus HIV from copying (replicating) itself. Tenofovir works by stopping the hepatitis B virus from multiplying further, this reduces the amount of the virus in your body.

Emtricitabine
Uses
Emtricitabine is used in the treatment of HIV infections.

Emtricitabine is an antiretroviral medicine known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), it works by slows down the progress of HIV infection by reducing the amount of virus in your body. It does this by stopping the virus from replicating itself.It blocks the action of the Reverse Transcriptase enzyme which helps the virus replicate, this results in destroying the viral HIV chain.
Common Side effects
Patients who take Emtricitabine may suffer from such side effects;
Fatigue,
Headache,
Nausea,
Diarrhoea,
Dizziness,
