Bicalutamide
Uses
Tabi is used with another medication (gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists; such as leuprolide or goserelin) in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer (cancer that started in the prostate and can or has already spread to other parts of the body).
How it Works
Tabi is an anti-androgen, in porstate cancer, the cancer cells need the male hormone(Testosterone) to grow and multiply, Tabi blocks the actions of male sex hormones called androgens and it also reduces the amount of male hormones (such as testosterone) that the body produces this directly blocking the effect of testosterone on prostate cancer cells. This causes the cancer cell growth to slow down and stop it from spreading.
