The US brand name of this drug is Bactrim and having the other brand name as CIPLIN DS, Bactrim DS. The manufacturer of this drug is CIPLA, GSK. The drug is usually made in the form of tablets. Each tablet is varied in the strength as 100 mg, 250 mg, 500 mg, 800 mg and 1000 mg. The drug is designed to give protection to the bacterial infection in our body. It acts as the best antibiotic for the infections like throat diseases and eye problems.
Composition
The main composition of this drug is SULFAMETOXAZOLE and TRIMETHOPRIM. Sulfamethoxazole is a white compound, tasteless, and odourless. The reported molecular weight is 253.28. However, trimethoprim is a light yellow compound, taste bitter, and odourless. The molecular weight is this compound is 290.3. Inactive components of this drug are magnesium stearate, starch, docusate sodium, and sodium glycolate.
