Cefpodoxime is is known as a cephalosporin antibiotics. Cefpodoxime prevents the synthesis of a substance in the bacterial cell wall called peptidoglycan, which provides the cell wall with the strength required for survival of bacteria in human body. Thus killing the bacterial cell and preventing the infection from spreading
