Cisapride
Uses
Cisapride is used in the treatment of heartburn, indigestion and gastric reflux symptoms
How it Works
Cisapride works by increasing the rate at which the esophagus, stomach, and intestines move during digestion. Cisapride also increases the rate at which the stomach empties into intestines and increases the strength of the lower esophageal sphincter which is the muscle between your stomach and your esophagus. Cisapride indirectly stimulates the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that increases the motility of the intestine to achieve all this.
