Cefixime is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. Cefixime works by attacking their cell wall in the bacteria causing the infection. Cefixime prevents the synthesis of the substance in the cell wall called peptidoglycan, which provides the cell wall with the strength required for survival of bacteria in human body.
