Rizatriptan
Uses
Rizora is used in the treatment of acute attacks of migraine causing severe headaches.
How it Works
Rizora works by narrowing the blood vessels around the brain. Migraine headaches result result from the dilatation of blood vessels in the head. Rizora is known as a 5HT1-receptor agonist. They are also known as triptans. Rizora works by stimulating the receptors of a natural substance in the brain called serotonin (or 5HT), this then eases the symptoms of migraine. Rizora also reduces substances in the body that can trigger headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other migraine symptoms.
